Created in 2014, Generación Espontánea has become the best option for “learning by doing” at UPV. The program allows students to develop transversal skills —technological, scientific, and social— that enrich the training received in classrooms, laboratories, and external internships.
During the fair’s inauguration, Rector José Capilla emphasized that “the great value of the Generación Espontánea program, in which 3,000 students already participate, is the acquisition of social, technological, and scientific skills that are not always possible in the classroom or laboratory, and even in company internships. This is its challenge and its major contribution, and students achieve it through a multitude of activities that enrich their university and personal life.”
The fair showcased some of the most recent achievements of UPV teams, such as the FSUPV Team’s single-seater, overall winner at the Formula Student held in Michigan, or Faraday Rocketry UPV’s “Rompetechos” prototype, launched with great impact from CATEC in Jaén. The latest edition of the XtraChallenge also stood out, recording a significant increase in international participation compared to previous years.
In total, 41 teams participated in this edition of the fair, including Azalea, Hyperloop UPV, Eolia, YUDesign, Diversa, Club del Anime, Fornejant Ciència, Euroavia, VoltX, and TARS Robotics, presenting projects ranging from aerospace engineering and robotics to sustainability, culture, and volunteering. With this fair, UPV reaffirms its commitment to an educational model that promotes student talent, creativity, and innovation, while strengthening the bonds between the university and society.
