
UPV’s sports teams are made up of students who combine academic excellence with a strong competitive spirit. During the 2024-2025 season, the university achieved remarkable success in the Regional, Spanish, and European University Championships, consolidating its position as a benchmark in university sports.
Within the Regional University Sports Championship (CADU), UPV competed in 33 disciplines with a total of 585 athletes (268 women and 317 men), winning 9 medals in team sports and 145 in individual categories: 44 gold, 52 silver, and 49 bronze.
In the Spanish University Championships (CEU), the institution obtained 19 medals across 20 sports, excelling in disciplines such as athletics, climbing, golf, karate, judo, and taekwondo. Internationally, UPV was represented in elite competitions such as the European University Championships, achieving gold medals in disciplines like kickboxing, race walking, and inline hockey.
During the event, Rector José Capilla indicated that "our medalists embody values such as self-improvement, effort and teamwork, an essential part of UPV’s identity". He also highlighted that "their success is also a reflection of the university’s commitment to comprehensive education, where sports play a key role alongside academic excellence".
With 58,000 m² of sports facilities, the Universitat Politècnica de València offers its university community a unique space to practice more than 40 sports, fostering both competition and recreational, healthy participation.
