The presentation of a new prototype of the UPV Formula Student competition car is one of those essential events that cannot be missed. The Rector of the Universitat Politècnica de València, Professor Pepe Capilla, has attended the launch of FSUPV 11, the car with which the team will participate in the university competition circuit that will be held during the months of July and August in Austria, Hungary and Spain.

During his speech, the Rector highlighted the role that this type of projects, led by the students themselves, have in the training of the student body: “Spontaneous Generation projects are a key piece in the acquisition of skills that are impossible to transmit in the classrooms.” . The students who participate in the Spontaneous Generation Program become a standard of what it means to “put the student at the center of learning,” Capilla highlighted. Working as a team, on projects or overcoming the unexpected challenges that appear during a competition are, without a doubt, a school that prepares the student to face their entry into the labor market.

Spontaneous Generation, a program that brings together more than 2,000 students around different projects, continues to be a unique initiative in the Spanish university system. The UPV provides a unique opportunity for students to work, during their university years, on the projects that they are passionate about.

The FSUPV students have taken a tour of the history of a team that, after 12 years of existence, is one of the leading groups of the Program. Subsequently, the reason that managed to bring together an audience of more than 300 people was revealed. In addition to the Rector, the event included interventions by the Vice-Rector for Students and Entrepreneurship, Professor Alberto Conejero, and the academic tutor, Professor Juan Antonio García Manrique. The audience has been accompanied by different sponsors, including representatives of the Alonso Group, who are in charge of transporting the prototype between the different circuits in which the team participates. Collaboration with the company is a fundamental part of this program.
