Estadístic reconegut pel seu treball en control estadístic de processos i anàlisi multivariada aplicada a la indústria. És professor distingit en la Universitat McMaster i cofundador de ProSensus Inc., empresa derivada de les seues investigacions.
John Frederick MacGregor is a statistician whose work in the field of statistical process control has received significant recognition for his pioneering contributions in the area of latent variable methods applied to industrial processes.
MacGregor is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association and has received numerous awards for his work in applied statistics and chemometrics, including the prestigious Shewhart Medal and the W.G. Hunter Award from the American Society for Quality, as well as the Herman Wold Medal from the Swedish Chemical Society.
He holds the title of Distinguished University Professor at McMaster University, the highest academic honor conferred by the institution, as well as the Dofasco Chair in Process Automation and Information Technology, also at McMaster University.
