Investido el 20 de May del 2022, en el acto de Investidura como doctor honoris causa del Dr. Antonio Font i Arellano y de nuevos doctores y doctoras por el rector de la Universitat Politècnica de València, José E. Capilla Romá.

An architect with a passion for innovation and sustainability, he creates spaces that merge functionality and aesthetics. His creative approach redefines the urban landscape with harmony and avant-garde vision.

Antonio Font y Arellano has been a professor and chair at the Vallès School of Architecture of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. He is an internationally renowned architect and urban planner, recognized for his influential studies on the urbanization of the metropolitan territory of Barcelona. His work gained early recognition, notably receiving the National Urbanism Award in 1983, and he has built an outstanding academic and professional career.

In addition to his research, Professor Font is especially noted for his leadership in the teaching of urban planning in Schools of Architecture, which has shaped an entire generation of faculty in the field of urbanism and territorial planning. Moreover, Professor Antonio Font played a key role in the training of urban planning professors at the School of Architecture of Valencia, which originally operated under the academic umbrella of the School of Barcelona.

In recognition of these merits, the Department of Urbanism unanimously agreed to propose Mr. Antonio Font y Arellano for the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from the Universitat Politècnica de València. This proposal received individual support from university faculty specializing in urban planning both in Spain and abroad, as well as from the Architects’ Association of the Valencian Community and the School of Architecture of the Universitat Politècnica de València.
