For the rector, receiving the key is not only an honor but also symbolizes UPV’s global reach. Capilla highlighted that this recognition shows how “our model of an innovative, international university committed to sustainable development generates an impact that transcends borders” and described it as “a gateway between Latin America, the U.S., and Europe.”
UPV’s inclusion among the honored underscores its international growth and its ability to establish strategic alliances. According to the rector, the distinction allows the university to “strengthen ties with its business ecosystem, top universities, and leading research centers” and represents “a unique opportunity to open new avenues for collaboration in strategic areas such as artificial intelligence, sustainability, energy transition, and smart cities.”
Capilla added that the key is also “an invitation to continue collaborating, sharing knowledge, and building the future together,” consolidating UPV as a global agent of transformation capable of generating progress and opportunities.
The ceremony, attended by José Capilla and Jose F. Monserrat, again positioned UPV alongside internationally renowned institutions and figures, reminding that this same week comparable recognition was given to personalities such as Jeff Bezos and Rafa Nadal, as well as companies like Telefónica Tech and Banco Santander.
