The rector of UPV, José Capilla, has presided over the handover ceremony at the Faculty of Business Administration and Management, in which Professor Francisco Javier Ribal Sanchis took office as the new dean. In his address, Capilla underlined the central role played by this Faculty within a technological university such as UPV and stated that “when we speak about our Faculty of ADE, we can confidently say that it occupies an absolutely central position within a technological university like the Universitat Politècnica de València.”
The rector recalled that “innovation only reaches society not just when research is carried out or designs are created, but when that knowledge is properly managed, made viable, and governed responsibly,” and highlighted that ADE provides UPV with “the ability to transform knowledge into economic, organizational, and social impact.”
He also emphasized the academic strength of the Faculty, whose programs stand out “for their academic performance, sustained demand, and employability results,” and congratulated the entire community of the center by stating, “congratulations to the whole community that makes up this great Faculty: teaching and research staff, research personnel, administrative and services staff, and students.”
José Capilla extended his congratulations to the incoming dean and addressed him directly, noting that “Javier, you are now at the helm of one of the flagship centers of the Universitat Politècnica de València. My most sincere congratulations to our new dean.” Regarding Professor Francisco Javier Ribal, he highlighted that he is “an excellent lecturer, recognized and awarded by the UPV Social Council, innovative, with an academic career marked by dedication, rigor, and a strong university vocation,” and expressed his confidence in the new stage now beginning. He also explicitly congratulated the team that will accompany the dean during his term, recalling that “results in an organization are not achieved by individuals, but by teams.”
The rector dedicated words of gratitude to the outgoing dean, Mar Marín, for her eight years of management and commitment to the Faculty, stating that “dear Mar, after your eight years of leadership you leave behind a stronger and better-positioned Faculty, ranked among the top three in Spain.” He also extended his appreciation to her entire dean’s team and to the staff of the center for their rigorous work and dedication to the proper functioning of the Faculty.
Capilla highlighted the contribution of ADE to the development of UPV’s double degree programs, recalling that “the Faculty has been key in the definition of many of the double degrees currently offered by our university, such as Computer Science, Telecommunications, Food Technology, and Mathematics.” In addition, he pointed out that new programs will soon be incorporated, such as “the Degree in Digital Technologies and the Master’s Degree in Corporate Social Responsibility.”
