The event was chaired by UPV Rector José Capilla, who highlighted the “excellence, commitment and passion” of the students who make up Hyperloop UPV. “Their work demonstrates the potential of students when given space to innovate, create and experiment with cutting-edge technology. They are a source of pride for our university,” he stated.
Now in its tenth season, Hyperloop UPV — a team made up of 50 students from various academic backgrounds — is unveiling a fully redesigned vehicle with which they aim to replicate the success achieved in previous editions. In 2024, they were awarded the Complete System Award, the top prize at the EHW held in Zurich, competing against the most prestigious technical universities in the world.
During his speech, the rector also emphasized the importance of the Generació Espontània program, which supports Hyperloop UPV. “It’s a strategic initiative by our university that supports and gives visibility to student-led projects. Through Generació Espontània, students develop key skills such as leadership, innovation, and teamwork — all of which complement and enrich their academic training,” Capilla noted.
Hyperloop UPV was founded in 2014 in response to the challenge launched by Elon Musk to develop a new high-speed, sustainable, and efficient transportation technology. The team is part of the UPV’s Design Factory, an institutional platform that supports high-impact extracurricular projects and contributes to the personal and technical growth of students.
With the new H10, Hyperloop UPV aims to strengthen its position as an international reference in Hyperloop development and once again place the UPV on the winner’s podium at the upcoming European Hyperloop Week.
