The event took place this morning at the ETSIAMN, where in the first instance took place the farewell of the former director, Alberto San Bautista, who after eight years of mandate has highlighted closing the stage with 'the feeling of satisfaction for the duty fulfilled and the tranquility of the trajectory of the School'.

In an emotional speech, San Bautista thanked the work and support received from his management team, as well as from the different rectorial teams, highlighting the work of all those professionals who contribute to the development of the School on a daily basis.

To conclude his speech, he passed the baton to the new director, Constanza Rubio, who assumes the position with 'character, knowledge, experience, capacity, commitment and closeness' and for whom the new direction and the fact of being 'the first teacher democratically elected as director of the School, in its more than 60 years' means 'as well as a challenge, a dream, a feeling and a great responsibility'. For this reason, she will face this new management stage with 'passion, enthusiasm, excitement and no little effort' exercising 'a shared leadership and service, with an excellent group of colleagues' with whom, from her new position, she encourages to collaborate and share concerns under a single objective 'to continue growing all together as a school'.

The rector thanked Alberto San Bautista for his work, who 'has successfully led one of the founding centres of the Universitat Politècnica de València', occupying the top positions in national and international rankings. A centre of which he highlights 'has marked an important point in the history of the School with the election of Professor Constanza Rubio as the new director, through the confidence of the voters', and which adds to the fact that it is the school with 'the greatest presence of female students' and in which, in the last elections, the different candidacies were led by women.

For Capilla, 'university governance must be, and is, a joint action' and he highlights the work of the ETSIAMN as 'a key element of participation in this governance, directly responsible for the investment in university education that the university returns to society'. For this reason, as well as reiterating his congratulations to the new management team, he concluded by wishing them 'many successes and successes in their management'.
