The Rector of the Universitat Politècnica de València, Professor Pepe Capilla, presides over the reception ceremony for the UPV student delegations. An emotional act in which the rector thanked the extraordinary effort, tenacity and dedication to the outgoing delegation, 'you have been able to combine and process your studies and academic attributions with the assimilation of your responsibilities and tasks representing the student body'.

Capilla also addressed a few words to the former Student Delegate, Lea Olcina, 'Thank you Lea for all the work you have done, we have taken up the challenges and concerns that you have been transmitting to us and as you well know, we are already working to provide the best solutions'.

For his part, Olcina, in an endearing speech, thanked his team for the unconditional support received, recounting some of the challenges faced and recalling that this is going to be a year of important challenges, highlighting the implementation of the LOSU and the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Casa del Alumno.

After the outgoing representative's speech, Rayan Faiz, the current UPV Student Delegate, took the floor and reaffirmed her commitment to the community, stressing that 'student representation is the driving force of the university and that is why we are going to fight hard to have a public, free, inclusive and quality university'.

During the ceremony, the rector also wanted to recognise the 'great work' done by the Vice-Rector for Students and Entrepreneurship, Esther Gómez, and her team. Chance and random success do not exist. The UPV is committed to the integral wellbeing of its student body', he said before listing some of the most important recent milestones in his work with the student body.

Some of the highlights: the success of the PIAE+ programme and the large number of students who attended the recent official masters' day; the possibility that students will now be able to sit the make-up exams to improve their marks, even if they have passed the subject by continuous assessment, a novelty derived from the approval of the modification of the UPV's academic and student assessment system; the training of a student in the European Union, who for the first time will act as an ambassador to his peers of the real opportunities that exist in the European Community framework; the application within 'Vinalopó' so that the ERTS can see in real time the performance of students at any time of the course and can act in time by taking action to prevent academic dropout; the creation of SAPE and the continuing success of the Spontaneous Generation programme, which incorporates ten new teams.

The Rector wished the new teams excellent management and a successful career, reminding them that they have an open rector's team at their disposal to carry out the task of governance in an exemplary manner.
